Why I won’t vote for Obama: Responding to critics

Published by kamirusma at 9:49 am under Uncategorized Edit This

First of all, the blog I posted yesterday apparently touched a nerve with some. I thought I would take a moment to respond to the negative comments that were made and clear up some misinterpretations that were inferred from my writing.

1. Nowhere in my blog did I mention Sarah Palin - or my view of her. Some commenters feel the need to throw her into any political discussion.

2. Nowhere in my blog did I state that I believe Obama is the Anti-Christ. Perhaps you should re-read my comment to understand the satirical, tongue-in-cheek slant it was presented in to offer up food for thought. Whether I believe he is the Anti-Christ or not would be a personal belief - and not something I would share here.

3. The world at large DID NOT love JFK. In fact, most of the world outside the US hated him: Think Latin America, Russia, China, Eastern Europe and pretty much all other countries and territories where Communism had interest. I think the hatred of JFK was evidenced by the fact that he was assassinated.

4. I never said once that I was not going to vote - only that I would not vote for Obama.

5. I have visited and read (and even enjoyed some) blogs of all of those who took the time and effort to read and comment (negatively and in some cases insultingly) on my blog. I appreciate their honesty and their passion for their subjects (I especially appreciated and enjoyed the What Would Batman Do blog).  I appreciate your rights of free speech and would never deign to insult you or belittle you in any comment I make on your blog. I might disagree with your opinion and beliefs, but I would be civil and respectful about it, but I guess that’s just me!

So thank you for visiting, have a wonderful day and a great weekend.

I guess I thought you weren’t voting because of the following comment. “If I was forced by threat of having my nails ripped out to choose a political party, I think I’d be Libertarian.” Voting means choosing, and unless the US is getting more voters by means of torture (of course they’d have to take you out of the US to do it) then it’s a logical conclusion that you wouldn’t vote.:)

I’m in Western Europe and we did love JFK as did the non-communist nations. Sorry, you’re right, I tend to forget that communists are opposed to positive change and helping the people to take responsibility for the country in which they live.

Thanks! In the US you can choose to side with a political party without actually voting - or even voting for that party’s candidate. Unfortunately, in the US, many people will state they are a Democrat or a Republican and wouldn’t care who was running on their ticket - they could hate them with a passion but they would still vote for them because they are a die-hard Democrat or Republican. I think this is mindless. What I meant was that if I was required to say “I’m a . . .” I wouldn’t choose Democrat or Republican. I choose to be independent, but if I was required to state a choice for a party I would choose Libertarian.

You’re right - most Western European nations did love JFK. He was very charismatic and many in the US loved him. He was dangerous to the Communists (and certain factions within the American government) which is why I believe he was assassinated. He had an amazing strength as a President.

My only comment will be in regards to Palin. The reason she is thrown into every conversation is because if McCain gets in, she could very possibly become President. She is inarticulate and not someone who should be speaking to foreign leaders. That’s just one aspect of the problem with her. Most people that I know who were in favor of McCain, changed sides when she wast selected.

I’m glad you can articulate your reasons for not supporting him. Most can’t. They just get angry about it. Everyone has their opinion, this is yours. I would hope you would respect mine, so I respect yours.

I think he was assassinated because of his speech he made a few months before the assassination against secrecy/secret societies in america, just my two cents I guess…

Wast? Hee hee! And yes, I respect your right to create new words and vote for whomever you please. ;-) I don’t get angry at anyone for having a different opinion and love to hear differing opinions. Respectful debate and discussion is healthy - it’s just when it gets nasty that I say forget it! Thanks for reading!
